Meet the Team

We recognize that all of our young patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your child to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice. We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.

Dental Assistant

I love seeing smiling people. It’s great to spend my days surrounded by our young patients, hearing their laughter and becoming their friends. They often have all of us laughing. I support patients during their visits. I bring them into the treatment area, take their dental X-rays, prepare them for the dentist, and sit chairside during their procedure. I also set-up the operatories, order supplies, and clean and sterilize our tools and equipment.

I’m happily married with two young children, Jordan and Brianna. I enjoy traveling the world and experiencing different cultures, and love all kinds of dancing.

I love the fact that we are able to help children. Seeing a child who comes to the office feeling fearful and then leaves with big smiles and waves because they’ve learned this isn’t a scary place, is incredible. It’s a great feeling to watch our patients grow up with healthy smiles and a good attitude about their dental health. I greet patients and their families as they arrive for their visits, answer our phones, and book visits, always trying to find times convenient for the family.

Outside work, I like pretty much anything that involves being outdoors. I especially like dancing, swimming, hiking, skating, and snowshoeing. In the summer, I love weekends at the cottage.

Dental Administrator

I love being the first and last point of contact to ensure each and every patient has a positive, hassle-free experience during their visit to our office. I am responsible for many of the administrative duties that help the office run smoothly from day to day, which include going through accounts, filing insurance, or creating the schedule for our dentists and hygienists. Markham Dentistry for Children is a unique place because everyone here treats one another with genuine respect and friendliness. We all have a sense of humor and have fun while, at the same time, maintaining our professionalism.

I am the proud mother of an eight-year-old girl who is my joy. I also work part time as a Yoga, Essentrics, and Pilates instructor, which results in my laid-back and easy-going disposition.

Level II Dental Assistant/Administrator

I am a level II dental assistant and administrator, ODAA, CDAA, and NDAEB Certified, and am a 1995 George Brown College graduate. I joined Markham Dentistry for Children in 2005 both in a clinical and administrative capacity. I enjoy the daily challenges and rewards of working with pediatric patients and seeing them have healthy, bright smiles.

Married with two wonderful children, I take pride in taking your child’s oral health seriously and am passionate about treating them like one of my own! My dedication continues outside the office as I volunteer as a soccer coach and am active in raising funds for cancer, autism and Parkinson’s disease research.

I began my journey in dentistry in 1999 and joined Markham Dentistry for Children in 2009. I love being around children, which makes me perfectly suited to providing hygiene care to our young patients. I am uplifted by their energy, innocence and joy. It is wonderful to share in their happiness and bring more smiles to their faces. I find it very gratifying to be part of a team that create such a friendly and welcoming office environment.

In my space time, I like to read, meditate, learn spirituality, and spend time with my 13-year-old son and follow his karate and sports pursuits.

Giving my patients a head start to a lifetime of good oral health is my number-one goal and mission. I really enjoy being around children, so being able to work with them at my job is great. Whether I’m providing a gentle cleaning or explaining proper brushing habits, I try to make it as fun as possible. I feel very fortunate to work with such a fantastic team, full of people who contribute and help out. This office does just that!

I have three children who all love coming to Markham Dentistry for Children for their dental visits. My kids keep my active with snowboarding, biking, and martial arts. I also enjoy teaching Sunday school at church to the little children and volunteering my time with community outreach programs.

I have worked as a dental hygienist for almost 15 years, the past ten of those with Markham Dentistry for Children. In that time, it’s been my main goal to give each child I meet a positive dental experience. I think it’s vital for them to have a good impression of dentistry at a young age, and one that continues with them into adulthood. We have a great group of staff members and doctors who help maintain a positive and professional work environment while still keeping it fun for the kids. Coming to work here every day is a real pleasure!

I have an almost two-year-old daughter at home who is energetic and fun-loving and keeps me on my toes. On my downtime, I horseback ride and compete in riding competitions during the summer.

Level II Dental Assistant

I work at chairside with the dentists, sterilizing instruments and helping to make our patients’ visits as pleasant as possible. My favorite part of my job is being a special part of a child’s first dental visit or being able to comfort those who haven’t had such a great experience in the past and then changing for the better. I have never met a better group of experienced people to work with a wide range of children who have all different types of needs. Everyone is truly special in their own way which helps make this office run so effortlessly.

When I’m not at the office, I enjoy spending time doing activities with my two young children. I love playing basketball with my son and dressing up my daughter in princess outfits.

Patient Coordinator

I joined Markham Dentistry for Children in January of 2015.  I first began working in the dental field in 1985 when I worked in an oral surgery office. I have a real passion for working with children and being able to have a career that allows me to see children on a daily basis is really my pleasure. I am fortunate to work in an office that truly does care about children and makes every effort to give every child a positive experience.

I am a proud grandmother of a little boy named Brayden, who brings me much joy and happiness. I spend as much time with him as I can. When I’m not working or spending time with my grandson, I enjoy cycling and hiking.
